L.A. Castle Studios, Production Home for XR, VR, MR and AR

What’s the future of Hollywood? It’s creators being empowered by technology to tell stories in the most compelling and safe ways possible.

This is where Extended Reality (XR), Virtual Reality (VR), Mixed Reality (MR), and Augmented Reality (AR) come in, and why we offer XR stage rental in Los Angeles. The latest in virtual production technology equips creatives to bring to reality the worlds that exist in their imaginations and dreams. This technology is present at L.A. Castle Studios.

Imagine you need to film talent in an Old West town, a dream-like futuristic world, New York City, and London. The talent for this project is based in Los Angeles. Instead of physically building an Old West town and the dreamscape, and then flying the talent to New York City and London, you can film every one of those scenes, with real-time compositing on stage at L.A. Castle Studios. And our XR, VR, MR, and AR technologies allow for as many physical props to be included as are necessary.

So, talent can swing open physical saloon doors in the Old West town and jump onto a real dusty old bench, and then lay down on physical puffy clouds in the dreamscape. Talent can get into a physical New York taxicab and later walk up physical steps in London. In each of these examples, most of the scene is created and composited virtually. The physical elements add to the reality and tie the scene together so that the viewer will have no idea that you didn’t create physically or travel to those places.

In these examples, the story will be more compelling than ever before because constraints on travel and what can be built physically have been eliminated by the technology we have here.

In all of this, safety is at the forefront. Because L.A. Castle Studios technology leads to smaller crews, this will of course limit the spread of viruses. But also, the limited use of physical materials for construction and limiting travel both help to protect the environment, providing safety for future generations.

Now’s the time to utilize XR, VR, MR, and AR in your production. Contact L.A. Castle Studios today to schedule a virtual or in-person tour and demo.
