- What is virtual set rental?
- You rent the studio and the location together. The location is a photoreal virtual set that appears around your talent live, in camera, on our stage. You see the finished shot on the monitor while you film, with no background added later in post, and the location can change between takes.
- How much does it cost to rent a film set here?
- Every production is quoted individually; there is no rack rate. The price depends on shoot days, crew size, set complexity and which studio you use. The set comes with the studio, no set construction is required, and there is no strike or storage to budget for.
- How do I find a set with a specific room, like a bedroom or a kitchen?
- Browse by room or by theme above the grid. Whole-house sets hold several shootable rooms: the Designer House alone has a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room and an office. Each room page, such as the bedroom sets page, finds every set that contains that space.
- Can we shoot more than one set in a day?
- Yes. Sets load in seconds and swap between setups the same day, so a courtroom in the morning and a spaceship by evening is an ordinary shoot day here.
- Can we come back to the same set for pickups?
- Yes. Sets live on drives, so there is no set storage and nothing to rebuild. A pickup months later reloads the same set.
- Can you rent a courtroom, police station or Oval Office set for filming?
- Yes. All three are virtual standing sets in the library. The courtroom set has the judge's bench, witness stand and jury box; the police station set has a detective bullpen, a briefing room and jail cells; the Oval Office set comes with the White House press briefing room and the lawn outside. Real courthouses and working police stations rarely allow filming, and each of these loads in seconds at either studio.
- What if the location I need is not in the library?
- Our in-house artists build it from your references, or CastleVision captures the real place and brings it onto the stage, including your own restaurant, store or office. Tell us what the scene needs when you check availability.
- Is every set available on every date?
- Not always. Because we keep upgrading our systems and software, not every set is available at all times. Send your dates and the sets you want, and a producer confirms what is ready for your shoot.
