Moon Landscape Set

Welcome to the Moon Landscape Set at L.A. Castle Studios. Step out onto grey regolith under a sky that is pure black, no haze, no glow at the horizon, nothing between your frame and the dark. A single low sun throws shadows that run long and hard across the ground, and the stillness does the rest.

The surface is photoreal and built to be walked. Fine dust lies over everything, broken by scattered rocks and boulders that catch the light on one side and go absolutely black on the other. Broad, shallow impact craters open across the floor, their rims stepping down in terraces. A ridge line stands off at the horizon. Drop to ground level and the camera skims dusty rubble; take the rolling grey hillside and the basin lays out below you. In two of the views, Earth hangs low over the horizon as a small blue marble, and in another the sun is nothing but a hard white point of light.

It suits hard science fiction, a lunar mission drama, a documentary recreation, a commercial that needs one unforgettable establishing shot, a music video with room to be strange. And it asks for no location scout, no build, no permit, no night shoot chasing a single angle of light. It loads in seconds on the Burbank and Albuquerque stages, and it looks exactly the same on take forty as it did on take one.

Bring your crew, bring your story, and let’s put the first footprints down.
