A press event venue in Los Angeles that is also the set

Forty outlets, one day, and every interview should look produced for the outlet running it. Most LA venues for press junkets are hotel suites and ballrooms: the same room, the same backdrop, forty times. Ours is a press event space built on a working studio floor in Burbank, Los Angeles. The location is a photoreal virtual set that appears around your talent live, in camera, on our stage. You see the finished shot on the monitor while you film, and the backdrop changes between outlets in seconds.

So the junket room can name-check each outlet, or the show’s own world can sit behind the talent, while green rooms, dressing rooms, two massage chairs, more than twenty parking spaces and easy load-in are part of the building. The teleprompter keeps a long press day moving. The Albuquerque studio runs the same format for productions based in New Mexico. New to the format? Start with what a press junket is, then the two formats of our press junket production.

Included with the press day

  • The studio floor, lighting and audio packages
  • A virtual backdrop per outlet from 250+ ready-to-load sets, changed between interview blocks
  • The teleprompter system in the room
  • Green rooms, dressing rooms and a hair and makeup room for talent
  • The virtual system operator who runs the backdrops live, in the rate

Optional, quoted to your outlet list

  • Crew package: three camera operators (one on the jib) and a teleprompter operator. Or bring your own team
  • The show’s own set, rebuilt or captured with CastleVision so talent sits inside the story
  • A custom branded backdrop built to the campaign by our in-house set builders and artists

Check availability

Send the outlet list and the date. We’ll quote the press day.

The talent, roughly how many outlets and the date are enough to start. A producer reads it, not a sales queue, and replies with availability at both studios.

  • Turnkey: the studio, lighting and audio, the teleprompter system, green rooms and dressing rooms, and the operator who runs the virtual sets are included
  • Optional crew package: three camera operators (one on the jib) and a teleprompter operator. Or bring your own team
  • Two venues: Burbank, Los Angeles, about 15 minutes from BUR airport, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Quoted against your actual press day, never a rack rate

Hotel ballroom or studio: choosing a press junket venue in LA

A junket day is a production. It just usually isn’t treated like one. In a hotel, every outlet crops the same suite. On a studio floor, each interview block gets its own look: the backdrop name-checks the outlet, the show’s world sits behind the talent, and the teleprompter keeps press hits flowing as fast as the publicist can schedule them. The footage plays like a produced segment, which is exactly why it gets aired and shared more.

The backdrop
A hotel suite is one room for every outlet. Here each outlet gets its own set from the set library, from a hotel lounge to a screening room or theater, or a branded look built for the campaign.
The show’s world
If the production captured its sets with CastleVision during the shoot, the junket can happen inside the film’s own world: no rebuild, no compromise. Our patented CastleVision method is what makes that possible.
Prompter, light, sound
Already in the room instead of rented and brought in. In Burbank, every camera records to its own file alongside the live composite.
Talent and press
Green rooms, dressing rooms and a makeup room down the hall, a lounge for publicists, and parking out front, instead of a hotel corridor and a valet line.

The same talent day often covers more than the junket. The same floor also works for host wraps, a talk show set interview or a news set hit, and companies use it for executive media days.

Junket venue questions

What makes a studio a better press junket venue than a hotel suite?
A hotel gives every outlet the same ballroom backdrop. In our studio, the backdrop changes per outlet in real time, or the show’s own world surrounds the talent, so every interview looks produced for that outlet. Teleprompter, lighting and audio are part of the room instead of brought in, and crew is available as an add-on, so the footage cuts like a produced spot rather than a suite interview.
What does the Burbank junket venue include?
Spacious green rooms and dressing rooms for talent and publicists, two massage chairs, 20+ parking spaces, and easy load-in for equipment. Even vehicles, if a vehicle is going on stage. The teleprompter system and per-outlet backdrop switching are included with the day, along with the operator who runs the virtual sets. An optional crew package (three camera operators, one on the jib, plus a teleprompter operator) is available, or bring your own team.
Can you host a press junket in Albuquerque?
Yes. The Albuquerque studio runs the same junket format with extensive parking, current cinema equipment, plenty of dressing rooms and green rooms, easy load-in, and a full furniture warehouse for on-set props. No film permit is required in Albuquerque.
Is this a press event venue or a film studio?
Both. Publicists book it as a press event venue in Los Angeles, and it is a working virtual production studio, which is why the backdrop can change per outlet and the show’s own set can surround the talent. Green rooms, dressing rooms, teleprompter and parking are already in the building.
Can a junket room be booked for a small press day?
Yes. The studio works for a single outlet or a handful of interviews as well as a full press tour stop. Tell us the outlet list and the day, and we quote it as one production.
Can the junket happen on the movie or show’s actual set?
Virtually, yes. That’s our signature junket format. We recreate the production’s world on stage with our patented CastleVision method, so talent sits inside the story instead of in front of a step-and-repeat. If the set was captured during production, it loads exactly as it was shot.
How much does it cost to rent a press junket venue in Los Angeles?
We quote every press day against the actual day rather than a rack rate. The number moves with the number of shoot days, crew size, how complex the set is (a library backdrop or the show’s own world rebuilt), and which studio you book. The studio, lighting and audio, the teleprompter system, green rooms and dressing rooms, and the operator who runs the virtual sets are included.
Where is the Burbank venue, and how far is it from the airport?
The Burbank studio is at 154 S. Victory Blvd, Burbank, CA 91502, at the corner of Olive Ave., directly across from Nickelodeon Studios. It is about 15 minutes from Burbank (BUR) airport, about 5 minutes from Warner Bros., about 15 minutes from Hollywood and about 45 minutes from LAX.
Where does the publicity team watch the interviews?
In Burbank, on the giant LED video village: the big screen where publicists, talent teams and crew watch the finished composite, backdrop and all, as each outlet’s block is recorded. Both studios also have a conference room and lounges where the publicity team can work between blocks.
Can we see the venue before we book the press day?
Yes. Tours are by appointment for producers with a project, and include a live CastleVision demo, so you can watch a backdrop load around someone in the interview chair before you commit the date.
